Our World on the Manitoba Research Gateway is your access point to unique collections from Gale Primary Sources. This world-class resource is made up of millions of pages of digitized historical content including newspapers, maps, photos, pamphlets, manuscripts and more.
Freely explore and access extensive resources such as the Indigenous Peoples: North America collection (including indigenous-language materials), every article from every issue in National Geographic Magazine from 1888 to 1994, and digitized materials from the Smithsonian that offer a look into their numerous exhibits. Also available are the archives of esteemed publications such The Economist, Financial Times, The Times (London), The Times Literacy Supplement, and the Illustrated London News. These resources are just a fraction of what is available to discover in Our World.
Through this site, all Manitobans enjoy free, permanent access to the collections through geo-authentication, meaning anyone in Manitoba with an Internet-connected device can access these resources with no need for logins and passwords.
Our World is available thanks to an agreement between the University of Manitoba Libraries and Gale, an initiative designed to further research and teaching, and inspire lifelong learning in in the province of Manitoba.
